Managers Corner

We have reached the time of year in which we are looking forward to the 12/13 crop. The cotton crop will be finished harvesting in August. The yields have been very good and ginning is going full speed ahead. Currently, we are doing needed tillage and applying lime and fertilizer. We work closely with our agronomist to determine optimal pH levels and amounts and types of fertilizer.

Managers Corner Continued

We will plant four crops this crop year. The largest acreage will be soybeans. Second will be cotton and third will be corn. In addition, we are planning to double crop edible beans after short season soybeans. Beans and rice are staples in the Brazilian diet.

As always, we have numerous capital projects that we will accomplish. This includes several new pieces of equipment and some new buildings. All in all, with many commodities enjoying high prices, we look forward to a successful 12/13 crop year.
